Welcome to Bridgwater Warrior Gym Kickboxing.
This club has been set up by Matt Boxall, a 2nd Dan Black Belt instructor who has been involved with kickboxing for
10 years, and after 3 years of teaching at the Weston Academy has decided to set up the Bridgwater club.
The main aims of the club are to increase fitness, technique and self-confidence for each person training regularly.
No matter what you are looking to do in life, the skills gained here will always assist you.
When attending the club you need to decide what your goals are. There are three main types of training:

can so varying fitness levels are more than welcome. Read more about fitness lessons.

Fitness and Grading
Have you ever thought about getting a black belt?
Gaining a Black Belt in any Martial Art gives you a feeling of confidence and achievement. To gain your Black Belt you will need
consistent training, hard-work and a good mental attitude. It takes roughly three and a half years of consistant training to achieve
a black belt. There is a set syllabus to work through with different colour belts to indicate the level you are at.
The syllabus is the basic outline from which there are hundreds of more subtle moves, theories and skills.
The first two grades are Yellow Belt and Orange belt which will involve learning about your stance, the basic kicks
(front kick, roundhouse kick and side kick), striking techniques, movement, using hand pads, kick shields, punch bags,
how to shadow box and sparring techniques (students are NOT forced to spare). Each beginners belts needs about
3 months between to increase fitness and technique. Read more about grading.
You will need to to purchase insurance and become a member of Warrior Gym Kickboxing.

Fitness, Grading and Competition
Warrior Gym Kickboxing are based in Weston and have competition fighters competing regularly.
They are closely linked with Fightclub Events who run large fight nights in Weston with nearly 1000 spectators.
We can help you compete at which ever level you want. There are many small tournaments where you can compete
at semi-contact or points fighting. There are also tournaments and fight nights where you take the level up and compete
at full-contact Kickboxing or Grapple & Strike (MMA).
You must attend the first lesson. It is important you continue to keep your fitness up and to continue to improve your technique.
Grading is also an important part of the training as it brings confidence in your own ability.
After the first lesson, the fitness and conditioning will be taken up a level in the second. The second lesson will include
sparring (boxing and kickboxing), leg kicks, striking techniques (stand up and ground) and ground work.
